How can we help?

Plain-language guides for store owners. Most setups take about ten minutes.

Getting started

What StockDrop does

Shoppers leave an email on a sold-out product and get told when it is back.

  1. Add the Notify me button to your product page in the theme editor.
  2. Shoppers on a sold-out variant sign up with an email.
  3. When inventory goes from zero to more than zero, we send the alert automatically.
  4. Orders placed after an alert show up as recovered revenue in Analytics.

Quick start: live in 10 minutes

The few things to do after installing, in order.

  1. Open Settings and set your sender name and reply-to address.
  2. In Online Store → Themes → Customize, open a product page and add the Notify me app block.
  3. Open Templates and review the default email.
  4. Sign up with a test email on a sold-out variant, then restock it to see the alert.

Show the Notify me button

Add the app block to your product template so it appears on sold-out items.

  1. Click Add button to theme on the Home page. It opens the theme editor on your product template with the Notify me block ready to add. (Or go to Online Store → Themes → Customize and open the product template yourself.)
  2. Under the product section choose Add block → Apps → Notify me.
  3. Save. The button only appears while a variant is sold out.

  2. Turn on the channel in Settings.
  3. Shoppers opt in per channel when they sign up.

  1. Open Subscribers to search and filter by status.
  2. Open a subscriber to see their alerts and history.
  3. Use Export to download a CSV.

See signups, alerts sent and orders recovered.

  1. Open Analytics for signups, sends, opens and clicks.
  2. Recovered revenue counts orders placed after an alert for the same product.

Plans & pricing

What each plan includes and how billing works.

  1. Open Membership to compare plans.
  2. Plans differ by monthly alert quota and channels.
  3. Billing goes through Shopify and can be cancelled any time.

Troubleshooting

Alerts are not sending

Common reasons a restock alert does not go out.

  1. Check inventory tracking is on for the product and the variant went from 0 to more than 0.
  2. Alerts wait about 30 seconds so flapping stock does not spam shoppers.
  3. Check your monthly quota on Membership.
  4. Unconfirmed, unsubscribed or bounced addresses are skipped.

Emails land in spam

Improve deliverability for your alerts.

  1. Use a reply-to address on your own domain.
  2. Keep the subject plain and specific.
  3. Ask testers to mark the email as not spam.

What happens if I uninstall?

What stays and what is deleted.

  1. Alerts stop immediately.
  2. Shopify asks us to erase your data after uninstall and we do so automatically.
